Out-Reach Programme – Health Awareness during COVID-19

  • Thanthai Roever College of Physiotherapy and College of Nursing jointly organized the Out – reach Programme on Health Awareness during Covid- 19 at Elambalur village on 18.11.2020 to educate them and to create awareness and prepare them for the second wave of Covid – 19.
  • As the first wave of Covid – 19 has been controlled successfully in Tamilnadu and Tamilnadu state Government has taken necessary steps to control the spread of virus and reduced the affected number gradually and Perambalur district was announced Covid free district by our Respected collector and our Honourable Health Minister.
  • In this regard, people have become lethargic in the precautions which is to be taken by them even though the virus is under control and inn the verge of the second wave all around the world, it’s our moral responsibility as health care professional to educate the people and society and make them prepare for the second wave and waves to control the effects.
  • The program was started with the arrival of the Chief Guest Thirumathi. Chitra Devi Kumar, President, Elambalur Panchayat and the function was presided over by Thiru KCR. Kumar, Ex-President, Elambalur Panchayat and our Honourable chairman, K. Varatharaajen, Founder & Chairman, Roever Group of Institutions, Perambalur.
  • Our Chairman Gave the speech which insisted on cleanliness of the self and the surrounding and he also spoke about growing plants and trees and saving water which is the need of the hour to be prepared for the forth coming summer.
  • The principals, Vice principal, Staff and students of both Physiotherapy and Nursing College were present to conduct the program. Mrs. S. Kavipriya., M.Sc. (N), Lecturer did the Master of Ceremony for the entire program.
  • V. J. Elizabeth., Principal College of Nursing did the welcome address followed by Poster Explanation on Differences between Common Cold and Covid symptoms, which were presented by Mrs. S. Bhuvaneswari., Lecturer. This was followed by presentation by 4th Year B.Sc. Nursing students. Ms. Akshaya on Corona Virus, Prevention and its Management. A Role Play on Covid-19 awareness was performed by Final Year B.Sc. Nursing students namely Ms. M. Akshaya, Ms. R. Nishanthini, Ms. R. Dhanusick, Ms. M. Devika, Ms. S. Premaladha, Ms. R. Rajeshwari, Ms. S. Gowri, Ms. M. Gomathi, Ms. V. Kamatchi, which was well appreciated by the audience.
  • V. Selvaraju., (PT), Associate Processor, College of Physiotherapy spoke on the benefits of Breathing Exercises and Yoga in preventing Covid related symptoms. Dr. C. Saranya. (PT), Tutor, College of Physiotherapy explained about the importance of Diet in Covid-19 pandemic in prevention and as well as treatment.
  • Finally, Dr. C. V. John Franklin (PT)., Principal, Thanthai Roever College of Physiotherapy offered the Vote of Thanks and concluded the awareness camp.
